- no, I do not get paid to draw Pug Dog Posse.
Supposedly, Google is sending me a check for fifty bucks!!!
But I have yet to see it.
As of now, I have earned $0 for the countless hours I have poured into this project over the past five years.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities campus) in the early nineties and worked as an Art Director/Cartoonist for The University of Minnesota newspaper. This proved to be a great opportunity to experiment with different methods and mediums to determine the best approach for superior print quality. In addition to printing our original advertisements, I was fortunate to have my own daily cartoon published in this paper. I moved to St. Paul and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Illustration from the College of Visual Arts. During this time I gained practical experience working as a Freelance Illustrator for various Minneapolis ad agencies. I was offered a job in Southern Minnesota at an in-house design agency creating greeting cards for corporations. My experience with designing cards for the corporate image and the daily "humor" of parenthood led me, in my free time, to create Pug Dog Posse. As a result of the downturn of the economy, I was recently laid off and have been freelancing in southern Minnesota, expanding my web cartoon, and attending South Central College for Web Development.
